Virtual reality in palliative care with HammondCare

Designing technologies in the palliative care environment is difficult due to the sensitivity of the context and vulnerability of the patients and their families in a critical stage of life. We explored the research question: What are the experiential aspects of palliative care that may be enhanced through technology infrastructure, particularly through virtual reality?

We conducted two focus groups with 9 healthcare workers to capture sociotechnical imaginaries to support physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of the patient care in the palliative environment.
